The UN Security Council condemned the terrorist bombings at an Egyptian resort "in the strongest terms" on Tuesday and urged all countries to cooperate in bringing the perpetrators, organizers and financiers to justice.
A presidential statement, approved by consensus of all 15 council members, reaffirmed that terrorism constitutes "one of the most serious threats to international peace and security" and can never be justified.
The council reiterated its determination to combat all forms of terrorism "by all means."
Three nearly simultaneous bombings on Tuesday evening ripped apart the Sinai beach resort of Dahab at the height of Egypt's tourist season, killing at least 24 people and injuring more than 80, many of them foreigners. Police arrested 10 people on Tuesday.
