Syria: 8 militants killed in shootout with army

Eight Muslim militants have been killed in a battle with security forces at a farmhouse in northern Syria on Thursday, the official Syrian Arab News Agency reported. In the clash, the second between state forces and militants in north Syria this week, soldiers shot dead five extremists and three others committed suicide before they could be captured, SANA reported. On Wednesday, security forces raided an explosives laboratory in the northern city of Aleppo, seizing bomb-making materials, tools and training manuals for attacks against public buildings and security headquarters, the agency reported. Thursday's shootout occurred in Idlib.
