Projectiles that were fired by Lebanese guerrillas into northern Israel in recent weeks were made in Russia and sold to Syria, the Yediot Ahronot newspaper reported Thursday.
"Hizbullah is using rocket-propelled grenades that were bought by Syria from Russia," Maj. Gen. Aharon Zeevi-Farkash, the head of army intelligence, told Yediot.
"The real faces of Russia and Syria have been revealed," Zeevi-Farkash told Yediot. "They buy weapons with the commitment not to transfer them and then these weapons are brazenly used against us."
Israel is not interested in carrying out heavy retaliation for Tuesday's attack, Zeevi-Farkash said. A few houses were damaged in the attack but no injuries were reported.
