US military says soldier killed by IED in western Baghdad

An American soldier was killed when a roadside bomb struck a US military vehicle in western Baghdad, the military said Thursday.
The soldier, assigned to Multi-National Division Baghdad, was killed Wednesday, the US military said in a statement.
The soldier's name was withheld pending family notification.
