The US military says an American soldier has died of wounds suffered in a roadside bombing in northeast Baghdad.
A US statement says the soldier's vehicle was struck by a roadside bomb Tuesday. The soldier was rushed to a military hospital in Baghdad but died Wednesday. No further details have been released.
The latest death brings to 20 the number of American soldiers who have died in Iraq this month. That's up from the 13 deaths suffered in July but still well below monthly tolls of a year ago.
