The Tel Aviv Magistrate’s Court released for publication Monday that four suspects – two female escorts and their boyfriends – were arrested last week under suspicion of murdering Dr. Eli Lazuz a few days earlier.
According to the police investigation, the two women arrived at the 70-year-old French chemistry expert’s central Tel Aviv home, stabbed him to death and stole some NIS 2,000 from his home.

The pair also allegedly stole a television screen from the apartment. Police alleged that the two women’s partners were involved in the murder. The identity of the suspects cannot be published due to a gag order imposed by the court. They remain in custody.
Lazuz was found with stab wounds in a burnedout home in Dizengoff Street by emergency responders. He stayed in the apartment during periodic visits to Israel. Police suspect the murderers set fire to the home to cover up evidence of the crime.
