Orthodox Christian pilgrims and nuns gathered for a dip in the Jordan River on Wednesday in a pre-Easter ceremony.
The worshipers submerged themselves in the waters of the river at the baptismal site known as Qasr el-Yahud, where it is believed John the Baptist baptized Jesus.
The baptismal site is located close to Jericho.
