Haifa man arrested on suspicion of killing neighbor

Police unsure of motive; 30-year-old man shot dead in Galilee Druse village; Acre resident stabbed, moderately wounded.

A 51-year-old man was arrested in Haifa on Friday on suspicion of murdering his neighbor, named as 39-year-old Nadia Vilkinia.
Vilkinia's body was found by her landlord.
She has lived in her home for the past six years.
Police did not immediately announce what they believed was the suspected motive for the slaying.
Meanwhile, in the Galilee Druse village of Yirka, a man in his 30s was shot dead on Friday at the entrance to his store, located in an industrial area. Police said the murder victim was known to them due to previous offenses. A murder investigation has been launched.
Police in the Arab town of Taibe, in the Sharon district, reported that an explosive attached to a vehicle went off on Saturday, demolishing the car. No arrests have yet been made in connection with the bombing.
On Friday night, a 30-year-old resident of Acre was stabbed and moderately wounded during a house party. Two intoxicated guests were by police on suspicion of carrying out the attack.
Also on Friday night, a 22-year-old man was injured in Jaffa by shots fired at his home by an unknown gunman. The gunshot victim drove himself to the Wolfson Medical Center in Holon.
Traffic Police launched an enforcement operation in the North over the weekend, revoking the licenses of 60 drivers caught driving under the influence of alcohol or committing serious traffic offenses.
One young driver, a 22-year-old from the Druse village of Daliat al-Karmel, surprised Traffic Police officers by offering them a 420 shekel bribe after being caught driving 142 kilometers an hour in a 90 kilometer an hour zone.
The driver was arrested for trying to bribe an officer and committing a grave traffic offense, and had his license revoked.
