Israel issues travel warning to Mediterranean states

Counter-terrorism bureau also warns against travel to Far East during Pessah in light of escalation in violence along Gaza border.

The National Security Counter-Terrorism Bureau on Sunday issued a travel warning to Israelis planning to go to countries in the Mediterranean area and the Far East.
According to a statement released by the Prime Minister's media adviser, in view of events in the Gaza Strip, "terrorist elements intend to perpetrate attacks against Israelis and Jews overseas ahead of – and during – the Passover holiday, in the Mediterranean Sea basin and in the Far East."

The statement recommends that Israelis be "highly sensitive" and aware at tourist sites, that they alter their daily routines, and avoid unexpected invitations to meetings.
At the beginning of April, the Foreign Ministry renewed a travel advisory warning Israelis not to travel to Sinai in Egypt.
The National Security Council said that their were concrete terror threats in the peninsula at the time.
