On Tuesday morning an Israeli man was struck in the upper body by a Palestinian wielding a metal pole in an open area outside the settlement of Ma’aleh Levona. The man was taken to Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem with moderate injuries. No arrests have been made in the incident, but an investigation has been opened by Judea and Samaria police.
The Israeli was reportedly filming Palestinian construction underway at the village of Luban al-Sharqiya.
In a separate incident on late Monday afternoon, a Palestinian told the army that he was attacked and lightly wounded by two masked men in an open area near the south Hebron Hills. The army passed on the complaint to the Judea and Samaria police, who have opened an investigation.
National police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said that police have held a series of security assessments to deal with the number of incidents that have taken place over recent weeks.
Rosenfeld said that police view the incident in the village of Sa’yur as “a criminal act with nationalistic motives,” adding that police are cooperating with other security agencies to find those responsible.
