Man angered by noise launches sword attack

Police arrest attacker who stabbed construction site manager with a sword after becoming angry over noise.

A Petah Tikva resident stabbed a construction site manager with a sword on Sunday morning after becoming angry over noise, police said.
The manager, 30, was lightly injured and rushed to the Rabin Medical Center- Beilinson Campus in Petah Tikva by paramedics.
Police have arrested the attacker.
“The suspect marched on the construction site and stabbed the first person he saw,” a Sharon subdistrict police spokesman told The Jerusalem Post.
Patrol cars quickly arrived to the scene.
According to the police, their speedy response prevented a more serious incident from unfolding.
“He launched the attack without talking much,” the spokesman added.
The suspect has no known previous criminal offenses. He is being questioned at a local police station. The stabbing suspect is said to be in light condition.
Meanwhile, in an unrelated incident, a man from Ashdod was shot and moderately injured early on Sunday morning in a marketplace. Paramedics rushed the man to the Kaplan Medical Center in Rehovot.
Ashdod police chief Dep.-Cmdr. Noam Shakal arrived on the scene to oversee the investigation into the shooting.
