A 20-year-old resident of Netanya is under arrest for allegedly striking his neighbor over the head with a handgun after being asked to keep the noise down.The incident occurred early on Friday, when the neighbor attempted to fall asleep, but failed to do so due to a loud noise, police said on Sunday."He went to his neighbor's apartment, from where the loud noise came from, and knocked on the door. The suspect was asked by his tired neighbor to keep the noise down. The suspect did not like the request," a police spokesman said."The suspect picked up a handgun, threatened his neighbor with it, and hit him over the head. The injured man required medical attention," the spokesman added.
The stunned neighbor fled the hallway and called police.The assault suspect has no prior record of attacks. During questioning, he denied the suspicions against him.
