Police arrest man for stabbing J'lem resident four times
Victim treated for wounds will likely survive-police; suspect, from east J'lem, demanded money from the woman before attack.
By JPOST.COM STAFFA 68-year-old woman was severely injured after she was stabbed on Agrippas Street in Jerusalem Friday night. She arrived at her neighbor's home with four stab wounds in her back.Police on Saturday said that the man behind the attack was an east Jerusalem resident of Arab descent. The man arrived at the woman's apartment in Jerusalem and demanded money from her. Upon her refusal, the man grabbed a knife from her kitchen and stabbed her in the back four times.RELATED:Four dead in two domestic murder-suicides in NorthAfterward, the suspect tried to flee. Police arrested him late Friday night and he was awaiting trial.Another man who was being held on suspicions that he may have been involved in the crime was released Saturday.An Magen David Adom team treated the victim at the scene and transferred her to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital.The victim, a Christian resident of Jerusalem, will very likely survive the stabbing, police reported.
