Man charged with assault for crims in Menuha village; police also make arrests in Arab village after brawl.

Police arrested a Thai worker in the southern village of Menuha in recent days on suspicion of “terrorizing” other Thai workers.The investigation began when police were called to the village repeatedly in March after receiving reports of brawls between the workers, which involved the use of metal bars and resulted in injuries.The head of Kiryat Gat police’s investigations office assembled a special team to investigate the multiple incidents of violence, and began interviewing Thai workers.Police were surprised to find that one of the workers allegedly enforced a “reign of terror,” according to a police spokeswoman, not just in the village, but throughout the whole of Kiryat Gat.“Serious violence” was used in the process, the spokeswoman added.The man was arrested and charged with assault.In an unrelated incident, a feud between two families in the Arab village of Raina resulted in injuries and arrests early on Tuesday. Police said a 19-year-old man was lightly injured in a mass brawl, and five suspects were arrested.Also in Nazareth, an 18-year-old man was stabbed in the leg during a fight between groups of youths. Paramedics rushed the youth to the Rambam Medical Center in Haifa in moderate condition.Police arrested a 21-year-old from Nazareth on suspicion of carrying out the stabbing.
