Apparent "price tag" vandals on Tuesday slashed the tires of some 20 unused vehicles and sprayed graffiti in the West Bank town of Kabalan.Graffiti of a Star of David along with the phrases "stop stealing our cars" and "thieves" was found on walls in the town and on vehicles being used for spare parts.
The incident was being investigated.
Last week, a large group of rabbis, including some from the right wing of the national- religious movement signed a petition declaring “price tag” attacks to be forbidden by Jewish law and unethical.
“‘Price-tag’ [activities] are actions that are forbidden according to the Torah and ethics, contravene the law and cause a desecration of God’s name,” the declaration reads. “Moreover, price-tag attacks damage the settlements in Judea and Samaria and stain the entire settler community.”
