A Taibeh resident was gunned down Monday morning in an open field outside the village of Kafr Kasim. Sharon sub-district police said the man was hit by a single pistol round to the chest and died in The Rabin Medical Center-Beilinson Campus a few hours later.
By midday police announced the arrest of two suspects, both from Kafr Kasim, wanted in connection to the early-morning murder. One is in his 20s and one in his 40s.
Police said neither the men nor the victim are linked to any of the organized crime families active in the Sharon region. They added that the shooting nonetheless was criminal and not a family dispute.
Police said the case is currently being investigated by the Sharon branch of the special YAMAR investigative unit.
