Russia says IAEA can solve Iranian nuclear crisis

Russia's top nuclear official expressed confidence after talks in Tehran on Saturday that it is still possible to resove the mounting standoff over Iran's nuclear program within the International Atomic Energy Agency, averting UN sanctions or the use of force against Iran, Russian news agencies reported. Resolving persistent questions about Iran's nuclear program "within the framework of the IAEA is absolutrely realistic," ITAR-Tass quoted Rosatom chief Sergei Kiriyenko as saying during a visit to Iran. An Iranian official said Tehran can handle sanctions but believes they will not be imposed, the report said.
