10 Arab residents of the east Jerusalem neighborhood of Azarieh are under arrest for alleged weapons trafficking with both criminal and terror operatives, police said Wednesday. The male suspects, who were apprehended two weeks ago, have been remanded in custody by a military court. A court gag order which was in placed on the case was lifted Wednesday. The chief suspect in the case sold pipe bombs and other weapons to an undercover police agent for use in carrying out a terror attack, Jerusalem police spokesman Shmuel Ben-Ruby said. Police plan to press charges against all the suspects in the case, he said, with more arrests expected shortly.
