Youth murdered in Tel Av
A 21-year-old man was stabbed to death during a scuffle with another youth in Tel Aviv's Hatikva neighborhood on Saturday night. Police say the deceased man, named as Nordinov Nordin, and the murder suspect, 17, who cannot be named as he is still a minor, had been involved in a long-standing feud and ran into one another randomly while walking through the neighborhood's main Etzel Street. A verbal confrontation ensued, which quickly deteriorated into a fight. Magen David Adom paramedics rushed Nordin to the Sourasky Medical Center in critical condition after suffering from a stab wound to the chest. He was pronounced dead by a doctor at the hospital. The suspect turned himself in at a Tel Aviv police station on Sunday morning, telling officers that he stabbed Nordin in self defense. "We don't yet know the full details of the suspect's version of events," a Tel Aviv police spokeswoman told The Jerusalem Post. "He claims he came under attack," she added. The suspect will appear before a Tel Aviv youth magistrate on Monday morning for a remand hearing. Police added that the deceased man had no record of serious criminal activity. Meanwhile, in Acre, a 35-year-old man was stabbed and moderately injured during an incident police are describing as a "criminal dispute." "The suspects have fled the scene. Their identities are known and they will be arrested," a Galilee police spokesman said.
