Police to reopen Temple Mount on election day
Etgar Lefkovits
Jerusalem police plan to reopen the Temple Mount to non-Muslim visitors on Tuesday, police said late Monday night. The decision to open the Jerusalem holy site to Jewish and Christian visitors on election day came just one day after police, citing unspecified "tension," shut the compound to non-Muslims. Police periodically close off the bitterly contested holy site following intelligence warnings of unrest at the compound.
