Schalit to terror victims: We know this is a difficult deal

Noam Schalit, father of captive IDF soldier Gilad Schalit who is set to be released Tuesday in exchange for over 1,000 Palestinian terrorists, addressed the families of terror victims Monday, acknowledging the difficulty of the prisoner exchange deal.
"We are aware of the fact that this is a difficult deal," Schalit said after a High Court concluded hearing a petition by the families of terror victims who asked the court to prevent the release of terrorists. "We would be happy if Gilad was released in a more comfortable deal," Schalit added. But the captive soldier's father also slammed government policies that he blamed for Gilad's five-year captivity. "The State of Israel, including two governments in the past five-and-a-half years, didn't succeed to create any leverage to press for the release of my son," he said.
