Meretz wants Knesset vote on no-confidence motion Staff
Meretz insisted Monday that the Knesset plenum vote on a no-confidence motion submitted by the party, despite the fact that no-confidence motions are generally not presented for vote while the prime minister is abroad. Party chairwoman Zehava Gal-On said that Prime Minister Ehud Olmert had been absent from too many debates in the plenum since he assumed office. Meretz proposed the no-confidence vote because of continued construction in the settlements, Army Radio reported.
