Likud MK warns that Adnan deal sets a dangerous precedent
Deputy Knesset Speaker Danny Danon warned Tuesday that the deal signed between the state and Palestinian prisoner Khader Adnan set a dangerous precedent, and called for an immediate Knesset debate on the matter.

Likud MK Danon said Israel had “capitulated to terrorism" adding that "this deal renders the Israeli values system meaningless.”

Adnan agreed on Tuesday to end his ongoing hunger strike if the state agreed to complete a criminal investigation and present the findings by April 17. If no new evidence is provided to the case, the state will not extend his administrative detention.

Danon said the state "should not have a sign a deal with a terrorist, and should not give preferential treatment."

Adnan, a leader of militant organization Islamic Jihad, is seen as a terrorist by Israel, but has not been charged since his detention began in December.
