French television airs footage of life under Islamic State rule in Syria
French television on Thursday aired video footage secretly shot by a woman currently living in the Islamic State-controlled territory within Syria.

In the footage, the woman describes life in Raqqa, the northern Syrian province where IS militants have established an administrative capital.

The segment, which originally aired on France 2 television, shows the woman being accosted by IS “modesty police” who admonished her for “showing part of her face.”

Another part of the clip shows veiled French women in a secret Internet café conversing with their worried loved ones back home.
