Boim: Abbas incapable of stopping Kassam fire Staff
Absorption Minister Ze'ev Boim said Sunday that he did not believe Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas was capable of stopping the Kassam rocket fire at Israel. Speaking at the weekly cabinet meeting, Boim said that no one could possibly expect to bring about a full cease-fire, and therefore Israel maintained the possibility of operating in the Gaza Strip if the rockets continued. Regarding a prisoner swap deal, Boim said Israel had established rules and would not deviate from them before kidnapped IDF soldier Cpl. Gilad Shalit was returned. Only then, he said, would Palestinian prisoners be released.
