"Saudi Arabia, the Zionists and the world arrogant powers are spending huge amounts of money to stir insecurity in our country," Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari charges.
A senior Iranian military official  on Tuesday accused Israel and Saudi Arabia of collaborating on a plot to stir insurrection inside the Islamic Republic.

“We have thorough intelligence that Al Saud, in collusion with the Zionist regime, is hatching plots against our country,” Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari was quoted by Iran's Press TV as saying.

Speaking at a forum in Iran's northeastern province of North Khorassan on Tuesday, he suggested that the countries were fomenting unrest inside of Iran.

According to Press TV, Iranian forces have recently clashed with terrorist groups in Iran and at its borders, confiscating explosives and bomb-making materials.

The Revolutionary Guard said that Saudi Arabia had funded the terrorists, who had also received intel from the spy agencies of enemy states, presumably in reference to Israel's Mossad, among others.

There have been numerous reports of Saudi Arabia and Israel improving ties over the last year, with a nuclear-armed Iran being a common concern of both countries.

Saudi Arabia is currently fighting against Iranian-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen and Israel is threatened from the North by Iranian-backed Lebanese terror group Hezbollah and its estimated 100,000 missiles.

"Saudi Arabia, the Zionists and the world arrogant powers are spending huge amounts of money to stir insecurity in our country and we have intel indicating that Saudi Arabia is collaborating with the Zionists to this end," Iran's Fars News Agency quoted Jafari as saying.
