Erdan mocks Palestinian prisoners: 'Here's how we broke the hunger strike'
"We just needed one thing," he said, and opened a chocolate bar.
Strategic Affairs and Public Security Minister Gilad Erdan published a video Thursday in which he sarcastically explained how easy it was to break the longest Palestinian prisoners' hunger strike.

"We just needed one thing," he said, and opened a chocolate bar.

"I'm starting to understand why Barghouti joined the hunger strike," Erdan said, referring to the co-founder of the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement Omar Barghouti, while eating the chocolate.

Earlier this month, Erdan announced a plan to make prison conditions for terrorists as rigid as possible, in an effort to deter would-be terrorists from committing acts of violence against Israeli.

"We will not be deterred by threats and hunger strikes," Erdan said, adding that "making the terrorists' conditions worse is necessary both to create deterrence and to fulfill our moral duty to terror victims and their families."

After discussing the prisoners, Erdan turned to the main topic of the video, an expression of his support for Social Equality Minister Gila Gamliel.

Erdan praised Gamliel's achievements in advancing the Digital Israel project, her initiatives to explore and bring to light the history of aliyah of Moroccan, Yemenite and Egyptian Jews, among others.
