How to grapple with Israel's water shortage
07/08/2007
KKL-JNF has built dozens of reservoirs, most of them for recycled wastewater.
Shortage of water is a serious environmental problem in Israel. It is aggravated by the deteriorating quality of existing water resources that are even now overused. KKL-JNF is a leader in the field of unconventional solutions for the severe water problem in Israel and has built dozens of reservoirs, most of them for recycled wastewater. The water for the reservoirs is used for irrigation and solves two problems: sewage treatment and the high cost of water for irrigating fields in the agricultural communities. KKL-JNF is also a leader in rehabilitating water sources, from springs to rivers, returning them to their former glory and providing people with wonderful natural recreation sites. Sponsored content
