The unusually heavy rain that fell in the north on Saturday caused severe flooding in Haifa and in other places. Several vehicles were stuck below the train bridge because of the unusual water level. Army Radio reported that similar flooding occurred on the road between Kiryat Ata and stadium junctions and at the check post junction Moderate to heavy snow fell on Mount Hermon. While the site has not opened yet this year, it may open by Tuesday. The stormy weather was predicted to move southward, with a possibility of snow in Jerusalem. Even Bethlehem, the birthplace of Jesus according to Christian tradition, may enjoy a white Christmas.
