The month of Elul is upon us and the holidays are fast approaching. As has been the practice for many years, Rabbi Yoshiyahu Pinto’s Rif Moreshet institutions are planning to distribute thousands of food boxes to the needy and deprived this year as well.
The food baskets will arrive at the homes of the families right before Rosh Hashanah so these families can celebrate the holiday with plenty of food on their table as well as other holiday necessities. The estimated cost of each food basket: 500 NIS.
Rabbi Pinto's institutions have been active for 30 years all over the world in distributing food boxes and packages to those in need on Passover eve and right before the High Holiday season. The distributions are carried out in Shuva Israel’s 100 yeshiva branches which are located in dozens of countries.
"We must not close our eyes to those in need who have nothing to eat," said Rabbi Pinto. "He who graciously gives to another - God is gracious back to him. He will treat him measure for measure."
As mentioned, the current distribution system started today and Rif Moreshet is purchasing thousands of tons of food products which will be stored in the Shuva Israel yeshiva courtyard in Ashdod and many other locations around the world, on the way to packing and distribution.
