The only Israeli to ever reach a final at the Artistic Gymnastics World Championships, Alex Shatilov has his sights set on accomplishing a similar feat in Beijing.
The 21-year-old finished in seventh and fifth place, respectively, in the floor exercise at the last two World Championships and he will be focusing all of his efforts on that exercise in China as well.
Shatilov, who made aliya from Uzbekistan in 2002, will also compete in each of the other events in the men's program, but his only chance of success is in the floor competition.
