Barnea breaks Israeli backstroke record in Beijing; proceeds to semifinals

Israel's No. 1 swimmer, Guy Barnea, broke an Israeli record Sunday afternoon at the Beijing Olympics, with a time of 54.50 seconds in the 100m backstroke.
The 20-year-old, making his Olympic debut in China, advanced from the heats to the semifinals.
