Basketball: Nat'l team reaches Haarlem final

Israel advanced to the final of the Haarlem basketball tournament in the Netherlands on Saturday, defeating Brazilian club Conti Assis 97-82. The national team, which is now a perfect four of four in the tournament after also beating Estonians Valga Welg (99-69) in group play on Friday, will face the winner of the second semifinal between Den Bosch and Minas Tenis Clube in Sunday's final. A 33-17 third quarter all but clinched the win for Israel, which was led by Yuval Naimi, who scored 21 points. Yehu Orland added 20 points, with Yogev Ohayon scoring 17 points and grabbing 12 rebounds. Maccabi Tel Aviv forward Omri Caspi, who scored 17 points on Saturday, and Ironi Ramat Gan players Nir Cohen and Elishay Kadir, will return to Israel on Sunday morning ahead of their teams' BSL encounter on Monday and will miss the final.
