Amit Ben Shushan blasted home an injury-time winner to give Betar Jerusalem a 3-2 win over visiting Bnei Sakhnin to complete Matchday 5 in the Premier League. What began as an uninspiring and lackluster match roared into life with three second-half goals in the space of seven minutes. The visitors opened the scoring in the 38th minute courtesy of Yaniv Avergil and it was 1-0 at the half. The goal gave the visitors confidence and caused Betar to lose its way. It was then against the run of play that Betar Jerusalem equalized. A quick ball through to Meor Melikson was blasted home and the home fans finally had something to shout about. This didn't last long, though. Four minutes later, after beating two, Paskal Kondofoni passed to Adrian Pito who upon seeing Itzik Kornfein off his line executed the most exquisite lob. After scoring only two goals in their first six hours of soccer, Bnei Sakhnin now had equaled that in the space of 18 minutes. They nearly had another one three minutes later when Kondofoni scored but was adjudged to be offside. Betar took it straight down the other end and forced a corner that central defender Eliran Hodera duly headed home. The game then settled down and looked to be heading for a deserving draw but it wasn't to be. Betar now moves into fourth place with nine points as Bnei Sakhnin stay mired to the bottom of the table without a single point.
