Betar Jerusalem knocked out of Champions League

Betar Jerusalem, champion of the Israeli Premier League, was knocked out of the running for Champions League qualification on Tuesday night when its second aggregate match against Denmark's FC Copenhagen in Jerusalem's Teddy Stadium ended in a 1-1 stalemate. Betar's goal was scored by Barak Yitzhaki in the 60th minute, but 7 minutes into overtime Marcus Albek equalized the score. The Israeli champion was eliminated because of an overall 2-1 loss on aggregates. Last Tuesday in Copenhagen, in the first leg of its second qualifying round face-off Betar was defeated by the Danish club 1-0.
