The Israeli women's double team won the gold medal at the Senior Bowling Championships in Sicily last month. Sara Aviram and Orna Karmazin averaged 191.33 pins over six games, or 2,296 total pins on their way to a 40 pin win over the second place team from Belgium. Thirty six senior bowlers from Israel, the largest group of Israelis to ever participate in the ESBC, joined the other 720 bowlers from 19 other countries, including South Africa at the event. For the first time, the Israeli delegation included a women's group comprised of eight participants, two of whom won medals. As well as celebrating her doubles success, Sara Aviram also won the bronze medal in the women's "All Events" Masters - Category A.
