Israel coach Tzvika Sherf named his final roster for next week's EuroBakset tournament on Wednesday, cutting Robert Rothbart and Elishay Kadir. The 12-man roster faces Croatia on Monday in Poznan, Poland in its European Championship opener and plays Macedonia a day later before wrapping up its Group A games with a showdown against Greece. "It wasn't easy to decide on the final roster," Sherf said on Wednesday. "We had a lot of arguments within the coaching staff and it is possible we made the wrong choice." The decision to drop Rothbart means the team will take only two centers to the championships: Yaniv Green and Ido Kozikaro. Yotam Halperin, Gal Mekel, Raviv Limonad, Yuval Naimi and Moran Rot will play in the backcourt, with swingman Tal Burstein to help the team in a number of positions. Lior Eliyahu, Moshe Mizrahi, Guy Pnini and Amit Tamir will be the side's forwards. Sherf believes the team will be ready by the time if faces Croatia on Monday. "Croatia is an excellent team with a couple of NBA players and several Euroleague stars," Sherf said. "We know everything about every one of their players and we will be prepared."
