Fencing to dominate Wednesday

Both Tomer Or and Noam Mills to compete in their respected events in Beijing.

The Fencing Hall will take center stage on Wednesday, with both Tomer Or and Noam Mills to compete in their respected events in Beijing. The 29-year-old Or faces Joshua McGuire of Canada in the first round and will be looking finally fulfill his potential and make a significant run at the Games. Or, who has been ranked among the world's top-20 in the last five years and who at the age of 20 won the junior World Championships, has the ability to do well on Wednesday, but will have to pull off one amazing victory after another if he's to make a surprise run at a medal. The 22-year-old Mills will be making history just by competing on Wednesday, becoming the first Israeli woman to ever take part in the epee contest at the Olympics. Mills was added to the delegation after being handed one of the three spots allocated to promising youngsters and will have to spring the shock of the competition if she's to get past a three-time Olympic medalist at this event, Laura Flessel Colovic, in the first round. Also Wednesday, the 470 Class and Laser Radiel sailing competitions continue. In the pool on Wednesday, Itai Chama will race his one and only event of the Games, the 200 meters backstroke, with Anya Gostomelsky and Gal Nevo to also compete once more.
