On Tuesday, in cool condition, just over 60 golfers took part in the August Monthly Medal at the Ga’ash Golf Club.
The day before returning to school after enjoying a nice summer break, 15-year-old Itai Gonen, from Ramat Hasharon, took home top prize in the “A” Division with a net 67.
Itai, who represented Israel Juniors during the summer tournaments in Latvia and Hungary, really shot an excellent round.
He played the front nine with a birdie, seven pars and a bogie to finish even par 35. On the back nine he had seven pars and two bogies for a 2-over par 37.
Finishing in second was Raphy Harroche, on net 72.
First place in the “B” Division went to Dani Golan on net 65 with Eli Ziv in second place with a net 67.
Leading the “C” Division, on 68 points, were Emanuel Papowich and Guy Banhamou – playing in his first tournament – with Emanuel winning on the count-out.
The Nearest-to-the-Pin prize, sponsored by the Greenfield restaurant at the Ga’ash Golf Club, went to Raphy Harroche.
