The Israel Softball Association's spring season began on Thursday night with B Division hopefuls Shimshon Hi Tech of Beit Shemesh defeating Crazy ReMax 19-4. The ISA fast-pitch league consists of nine teams: Defending champs Penticon of Ra'anana, Dimona Mean Judeans, Ziontours of Jerusalem and two Tel Aviv teams - the Tigers and the Cerveceros in the A Division, and Shimshon, Crazy (Tel Aviv/Kibbutz Gezer), the Galil Twisters and the Dawgs, who represent the Shfela. Sadly, Otzma Eilat was not able to field a team due to travel and financial issues. The top B team will replace the fifth place A team in 2009. Several teams are still in need of players.
