Dimona, in turn, whitewashed Shimshon Hi Tech of Beit Shemesh 15-0. Zion Tours ousted the Tigers 17-6. In a women's game, the Beit Shemesh Fireballs drubbed the Dimona Lady Judeans 17-2.
Ami Baran pitched his best game of the year, mixing up pitches, working the corners, striking out six and allowing only two more runs after a two-run first inning.
When the Dimona bats did make contact, the Penticon defense made the plays. The Penticon stars were second baseman Etai Mayerfeld who owned the right side of the field and sparked a game breaking rally leading off the bottom of the fourth with a single off of Dimona pitcher Yaron Ben Israel and centerfielder Sam Goldberg who threw out a Dimona runner at the plate and almost had another assist at the plate after saving a gap-hit from extra bases with a diving slide, while being handy with the bat with an RBI double.
The Beit Shemesh Fireballs beat the Dimona Lady Judeans 17-2. Five errors in the second led to the biggest scoring run of the night for the BS women, when seven runs crossed the plate.
Pitcher Efrat Yaakov was outstanding, and with a sterling defense behind her Dimona did not threaten at any point in the game. The Fireballs top hitter was second baseman Cheryl Konstantyn, who went 4 for 4, with two RBI and teo stolen bases.
