Rise Hi broke open a close game in the sixth inning, taking advantage of fielding miscues by Optica International to score five runs on the way to a 12-3 victory in an amateur softball in Israel game at Kibbutz Gezer on Friday. Leading 7-3 going into the sixth inning, a costly throwing error allowed three runs to score. Two more runs scored on consecutive hits by Amiad Harow and his brother, Dani. Rise Hi scored three runs in the first inning when Beryl Thomas and Naftali Schwartz singled, and then Zvi Harow doubled both runners home and scored with Earl Harow's single. In the second inning, David "Bubba" Kiel hit a two-run homer after a single by Dani Harow. Rise Hi added runs in the third and fifth innings. Kiel had a single, double and the home run to knock in four runs on the day, and Dani Harow had three hits. Thomas had three hits, Zvi Harow had two hits and Earl Harow scored three runs. Ed Harow pitched a solid game and earned his seventh win of the season. Optica International's Jay L. Abramoff had a pair of hits as OI scored all of its runs in the third inning and Fred Moncharsch kept the game close by pitching a great game despite picking up the loss.
