ISP Cerveceros won their fifth straight Israel Softball Association Men's League game last week, an 11-8 victory over the Eilat Flames.
The Flames also lost 14-1 to Shimshon Hi-Tech, and in a women's game, ISP Tel Aviv came back for a 17-12 victory over the Beit Shemesh Fireballs.
ISP Cerveceros 11, Eilat Flames 8
ISP Cerveceros, the league's newest team, defeated feisty Eilat on Thursday.
The Cerveceros scored four runs against a shaky Jeremy Shai in the first inning, but Shai redeemed himself with a three-run, inside-the-park home run down the left field line in the bottom half of the frame off of pitcher Yehezkel Ganz.
Both pitchers settled down, and each allowed four runs over the next four innings, but Eilat could never quite take the lead.
The Tel Avivians added three in the top of the sixth and final inning and Eilat faltered in its at-bat.
Bernardo Esquivel was 2-for-4 with three RBIs, Ganz and Julio Mirabal each drove in two with a pair of hits and Alberto Tascher reached base four times for the Cerveceros.
Shimshon Hi-Tech 14, Eilat Flames 1
Shimshon batterymates Shalom Menorah and Gadi Bossin teamed up to provide offensive and defensive leadership in an easy victory over winless Eilat on Friday.
Menorah took a no-hitter into the fifth inning and gave up only two hits and a single walk the entire game, and struck out three.
Menorah's bat was hot, driving in five runs with three doubles, Bossin had three hits and runs and Shem-Tov Shapiro drove in four with three hits.
Bossin contributed in the field by throwing a runner out on an attempted steal, and Menorah made the play of the game when he surprised an Eilat runner at first base by picking him off following a routine throw back to the mound.
Eilat scored its lone run in the seventh when Yuval Nosgorodsky came home after tripling. Nosgorodsky was also on the tail end of two fine double plays by the tight infield tandem of shortstop Goto Hirofumi and Elias Mizraji.
Women's LeagueISP Tel Aviv 17, Beit Shemesh Fireballs 12
ISP Tel Aviv came back from a 12-4, second-inning deficit to beat Beit Shemesh on Wednesday.
Alisson Aronovic atoned for a tough first inning by returning to pitch in the third and completely shutting down the Fireballs' offense the rest of the way.
Elana Greenspan's RBI hit gave Tel Aviv its first lead of the night, and Aronovic and Revital Berlin each doubled and drove in two runs to lead the ISP Tel Aviv offense.
Tel Aviv also turned a pair of sharp double plays - Nurit Werjow snagged a ball in right field and doubled the runner off at first base, and Orna Meir Freedman turned an unassisted one at first.
