Games We Play: Tigers keep rolling in softball tourney
Tigers went to 4-0 in the Israel Softball Association's Babe Gillett Fast-pitch Fall Tournament with a 19-4 rout of the Dawgs.

The Tigers went to 4-0 in the Israel Softball Association's Babe Gillett Fast-pitch Fall Tournament with a 19-4 rout of the Dawgs on Friday.
Goose Gillett, making his first pitching appearance in 11/2 years, held the Dawgs to three runs in four innings while the Tigers' offense, led by Dror Gal (two triples), Craig Einhorn (3-4, lacking only a home run for the cycle) and Guy Bender (home run, three RBIs, three runs), feasted on the Dawgs' pitching.
Yehezkel Ganz was the bright spot for the Dawgs, playing fantastic defense at third base and smacking a triple for good measure. The Dawgs led 3-0 in the second but the Tigers scored five in their half of the inning to take the lead for good.
Magic Gezer 11, Elmhurst Dairy Farmers 10
Pitcher Blair Portnoy allowed only three earned runs and Alon Leichman continued his torrid hitting with a 3-3 day to lead Magic Gezer to a win.
Elmhurst jumped out to a 4-1 lead, but Gezer came back to go ahead 9-6.
With the score 11-8 in the seventh, the Farmers fought back, and came to within one run before Sivan Schick's diving grab at second base saved the day.
For winless Elmhurst, there were hitting stars aplenty as Aaron Cohen smacked two home runs and drove in four runs, as well as nailing a runner at the plate from left field, Jeff Mor went 4-5 with 3 RBIs, Lavey Freedman was 4-5 with a triple and Andre Isaacson had a triple among his three hits.
Triple T 14, Tri United 8
"Wild" Bill Arscott was anything but in his first appearance of the tournament. He allowed three runs while walking only one and striking out two in four innings of relief.
Moshe Hyde broke a 6-6 tie with one of his four hits on the day and Eitan Milgram followed with a two-run homer to pace Triple T. Clay Steelman had his second straight 4-4 game with two doubles, a triple and four RBIs, while playing excellent defense at first. Steelman, the Baptist Village groundskeeper, now has nine hits in a row.
In the game's most exciting moment, Rob Barasch stole home and Steelman followed him on the same play when the catcher turned his back.
Rookie Yisrael "Snake" Dahan singled twice in his league debut.
For Tri United, Shem Tov Shapiro singled twice and scored three runs, Mark Chass drove in two and Sandor Joffe walked twice with the bases loaded.
