Golf: Goldsmith wins Gaash medal

Daniel Goldsmith won the Gaash Monthly Medal, beating off a field of more than 60 participants.

Daniel Goldsmith won the Gaash Monthly Medal, beating off a field of more than 60 participants playing in excellent weather conditions. In Division A, Goldsmith and Arik Sagi both had 70 net points. Goldsmith, a high school student from Herzliya, playing off a five handicap, played the first nine on 41 strokes. On the back stretch he came home with an amazing three birdies, five pars and one bogey to score 34 and take first place. Sagi, playing off a 10 handicap had a front nine of two over-par, 38, and played the back nine in 42 strokes, to finish second. Division B was won by Zeev Zeevi, who shot a net 67. On net 70 were Norma Kaufman and Aaron Mizrahi, with the honors going to Norma on a count-out. Playing in her first Monthly Medal, Division C was won by Limor Sidi, with a net 67. Allan Blumenstyk came in second place, with a net 69. The longest drive for men on the second hole was won by Aviram Ganot with a 230-meter drive. The nearest to the pin for women, on the ninth hole was won by Judy Reefe, 5.65-m from the hole.
