Golf: Koren takes March medal

Veteran golfer Joe Klein took the B division with a net 64 at Ga'ash Golf Club.

Fifteen-year-old Tomer Koren won the A division at the monthly medal competition at the Ga’ash Golf Club this week, finishing with a net 58.
Cyril Kaufman and Idan Chayut finished behind Koren tied with a net 71, but Kaufman took second after a count down.
Veteran golfer Joe Klein took the B division with a net 64.
On net 68 were Linda Streit, Norma Kaufman and Hugo Wainstein, with second place going to Streit on the count down.
Net 64 was also the winning score in the C division, won by Aliza Ophir.
Second place also went to Gon Hertzog on net 67.
Nearest to the pin prize went to Yaacov Deutsch.
Also in Israeli golf this week, the PGA of Israel held its first annual Purim Junior Classic on Sunday and Monday.
Participating in the competition were 54 of Israel’s promising junior golfers between the ages of six and 18. The two-day event was graciously hosted by both Ga’ash and Caesarea Golf Clubs.
The championship division winners were Asaf Cohen, Eitan Solomon, and Elad Berman, while the Par 3 division winners were Dana Lerner, Eli Asuline, and Ben Cohen.
