Maccabi Tel Aviv owner owner Loni Hertzikovitch has called on the club's supporters to back the team after the team bus and several cars belonging to the side's players had their windows smashed by fans of the club overnight after the 3-2 loss to Bnei Sakhnin on Sunday.
Maccabi filed an official complaint with the police and is planning to sue the unruly supporters. "The ease with which these criminals are released by the courts is the catalyst to the hooligans' behavior," Hertzikovitch told the club's official website.
"I call on the thousands of Maccabi fans to support the team as that is the only way to improve the current situation and help the side reclaim its fitting place in the Premier League."
