Judoka Alice Shlesinger was defeated in her two fights at the Olympics on Tuesday after receiving a first round bye in the under-63 kilogram competition.
In the second round, Shlesinger faced the two-time defending European Champion Lucie Decosse of France and lost by the slightest of margins after a tight fight.
After the Frenchwoman advanced into the semis, Shlesinger got a second chance in the repechage, but was dominated by Urska Zolnir, the bronze medalist from the Athens Games, and an Ippon by the Slovenian ended the Israeli's Olympics.
