Gideon Kliger and Ehud Gal were only four points out of third place at the 470 Class Sailing World Championships in Rizhao, China, while three of the four Israeli teams were in the top 12.
Kliger and Gal were eighth in the men's competition and Nike Kornecki and Ravid Kanonich were seventh in the women's. Noa Botzer and Laia Trajtenberg were 12th.
Adi Gilboa and Vered Bouskila finished Saturday in 34th and were eliminated from the competition. After six rounds, the top 29 men's teams and top 30 women's teams advanced.
