Jason Williams will become Effi Birenboim's first signing as Maccabi Tel Aviv coach in the coming days.
The 24-year-old played under Birenboim at Bnei Hasharon for the last two seasons and averaged 15.9 points, 4.7 rebounds and 3.1 assists last year.
The swingman was one of the BSL's better players last season, but will have to adjust to an entirely different role at Maccabi.
Williams will play fewer minutes than he was accustomed to at Bnei Hasharon and will have to learn to perform under intense pressure at the Nokia Arena.
Also, Maccabi affirmed on Sunday that it has yet to make a decision regarding the future of guard Yotam Halperin.
The Israeli international is being chased by some of Europe's top clubs and has asked to be released from the final year of his contract at Maccabi to leave for one of the big offers he has received.
Tel Aviv's management will meet with the player once again in the coming days and will only then make a decision on whether to release Halperin as per his request.
